The Bristol Balloon Fiesta is renowned not just throughout Britain, but the world, for transforming the skies over Bristol into an array of colour as over one hundred balloons are launched from Ashton Court, creating a colourful backdrop to some of Bristol’s most famous landmarks. Perhaps one of the most famous and breathtaking sights of the Fiesta is the Night Glow; whilst the balloons are tethered to the ground in the main arena, pilots light their hot air balloon
burners in time to music, lighting up the arena in the most spectacular way. Sadly, in 2008, the weather was not very kind and some of the events had to be cancelled, but it was still worth the weekend visit, with some superb photography opportunities. If you want to know more, click here |
